LG sues TCL for patent infringement
It is not uncommon when technology companies find themselves at the center of judicial scandals: then competitors will not like something and decide to compete with an opponent in the courts, then the patent “Troll” will want to profit at the expense of corporations. This time, TCL is charged with intellectual property infringement, and LG has indicted.
The South Korean giant has filed lawsuits in German courts alleging that the Chinese company illegally uses technology protected by 3 patents owned by LG in its smartphones. We are talking about developments in the field of fourth-generation 4G LTE networks.
LG claims that all attempts to find a compromise in this dispute have been futile. TCL did not want to resolve the issue peacefully and deliberately went to patent infringement. The South Korean company itself emphasizes the fact that it invested considerable funds in the development of LTE technologies and will firmly defend its patent rights.
There is currently no information on how much LG estimated the damage caused by TCL intellectual property infringement. There is a possibility that the South Korean giant will demand from the court to impose a ban on the sale of some models of smartphones TCL, Alcatel and Blackberry.
