Huawei talked about the successes and development strategies of AppGallery
Not so long ago, Huawei held its online conference, which not only showed its new products, but also talked about successes in the development of its own ecosystem. In the future, it should become a full replacement for Google services. In addition, the other day the company introduced the concept of development of AppGallery.
Currently, more than 3,000 Huawei engineers are busy creating the ecosystem and more than 1.3 million developers around the world are involved in the emergence of applications. Each month, the number of active users of the Huawei AppGallery app store reaches 400 million people worldwide. AppGallery is one of the three largest marketplaces and is available in 170 countries and regions.
The company is confident that we are entering the 5G era and mobile applications play a huge role, which simplify and make interaction with gadgets comfortable. In the future, the demand for utilities will only grow, so Huawei seeks to satisfy the ever-growing need for special programs.
Among the priorities in the development of AppGallery, the company distinguishes privacy protection and cybersecurity. The application store offers full-cycle protection, which involves checking the name of the developer, as well as a four-level process for analyzing the safety of utilities. Additionally, there is a filter that allows you to determine the age category that the applications are focused on, which allows you to separate adult and children's content.
It is promised that the Huawei AppGallery is designed to provide a high level of privacy and personal information (for example, biometric data) will be stored only on Huawei gadgets. In addition, EMUI has tools that allow you to establish control over the resolution settings.
The AppGallery catalog consists of 18 categories, including social networks, news, entertainment and others. If the user does not find the necessary utility in the store, then when it appears in the marketplace, he will receive a notification. To do this, it will be enough to add the name of the application to the “wish list”.
All applications that are included with AppGallery are optimized to work on Huawei gadgets. The main element of the store is the Huawei HiAI ecosystem – an open platform for AI capabilities for smart devices. It organically balanced software and hardware resources of various gadgets for better interaction between them.
For example, the AI algorithms in the WPS Office utility help you recognize the characters and text of documents, including scanned copies and photos.
Quick Apps is an ecosystem of over 1,700 utilities that do not require installation. It consumes less memory and provides automatic updates for HTML5 pages. When writing Quick Apps, 1/5 of the code was used compared to Android applications, and they take up less space. This allows you to store 2,000 Quick Apps on 1 GB of memory instead of 20 native utilities.
Despite the fact that now HMS is inferior to the GMS version of Android in its capabilities, functionality and number of applications, the company intends to accelerate the development of its own ecosystem and make it self-sufficient.
