Qualcomm decided to accelerate the announcement of Snapdragon 865
Qualcomm is preparing to announce the next-generation Snapdragon flagship processor earlier than planned – in November this year. At least that's what the insiders say and promise us the premiere of Snapdragon 865 in the last fall month.
Earlier, the chip maker preferred to announce the new generation of the flagship hardware platform in December as part of its own technology summit.
The production of Snapdragon 865, most likely, will be engaged in Samsung. As expected, the processor will be released in two versions: with support for fifth-generation networks and without it. The top variation will receive an integrated 5G-modem Snapdragon X55.
Previously, information appeared on the network that the Snapdragon 865 will offer support for LPDDR5 RAM, which provides data transfer speeds of up to 6400 Mbit / s. The platform itself will be manufactured according to the standards of 7-nanometer technology using photolithography in deep ultraviolet (EUV).
The first Snapdragon 865 smartphones will reach store shelves in the first quarter of next year. And at the moment, the chip maker is getting rid of the Snapdragon 855/855 + stock and has reduced the cost of its chips. It is expected that a change in pricing policy will spur manufacturers to release more smartphones with these chipset models on board before the end of the year.
