Pixel 4: Enhanced Night Sight, 8x Zoom and Motion Mode
The more we hear about the new Google Pixel 4, the stronger the assumption is that Google is planning to challenge the flagship models of the Apple iPhone and Samsung. It’s already known, for example, that the new product from Google will be equipped with a face unlock system similar to Apple Face ID, and the new Motion Sense function will allow Pixel 4 users to control some aspects of the smartphone using hand gestures (for example, skipping a track, muting phone calls, etc. )
But the main “feature” of Pixel 4, which is likely to appear next month, is the Motion Mode function, which will be equipped with a 16-megapixel camera on the back of the smartphone (in the same place, next to it, there is another module on 12MP).
“Motion mode” will allow you to take high-quality photos in dynamics, for example, moments of wrestling, or pictures of moving objects (in the foreground) in combination with a blurred background. In addition, the Pixel 4 will have an improved version of the Night Sight function, which allows you to take pictures in low light conditions. Thanks to this function, you can get high-quality photographs, for example, of the night starry sky (the practice of photographing the night sky is known as “astrophotography”). Without a doubt, Google will actively use this fashionable "chip" to attract potential buyers.
But that is not all. A couple of images published by the user on the Chinese social network Weibo show that the Pixel 4 will “get hold of” 8x zoom (which may be a combination of optical zoom and Google’s Super Res Zoom function) and will have 6 GB of RAM (all previously released devices Pixel series had 4 GB of RAM).
The Pixel 4 is expected to come with a 5.7-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2280. A more “advanced” version of the Pixel 4 XL will be equipped with a 6.3-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1440 x 3040. Both models will have the aspect ratio is 19: 9, and the screens have a refresh rate of 90 Hz, which is 50% more than most models on the market (including all previous Pixel smartphones). This will provide smoother animation and scrolling. Both new products will run on the Snapdragon 855 platform (without Plus), but the batteries vary. The battery capacity of the Pixel 4 is 2800 mAh, and now, the battery of the Pixel 4 XL is more “convincing” – 3700 mAh.
Last year, Google shipped 4.7 million Pixel phones to the global market, 70% of which were sold in the United States. This year, after the overwhelming success of the Pixel 3a series, Google plans to release up to 10 million Pixel devices. And since the phone is mainly sold in the United States, but assembled in China, Google plans to move production to Vietnam in order to avoid a 15% tax on the import of products manufactured in China (the tax will start on December 15 and includes the Apple iPhone).
