Announcement of Realme XT: rival Redmi Note 8 Pro with Snapdragon 712, AMOLED display and smaller battery
Realme in India has a warm feeling, and users are eager to purchase its models. And how differently relates to the manufacturer, which produces suitable in terms of characteristics / price solutions?
It is the Oppo sub-brand that is one of those who does not let Xiaomi and its “daughter” Redmi rest on their laurels in India. Redmi Note 8 Pro is an interesting solution and it has practically no competitors. More precisely, it was not until today, until Realme XT was introduced.
In its technical equipment, it is similar to Redmi Note 8 Pro, but it could not do without differences. The first difference is visible to the naked eye – an AMOLED-display with a diagonal of 6.4 inches with a resolution of 2340 × 1080 pixels. The Redmi Note 8 Pro, in turn, has a 6.53-inch IPS matrix.
Installing a screen with a smaller diagonal and a less capacious battery, allowed the Redmi XT to be more compact and lighter than its competitor: 158.7×75.1×8.5 mm and weighs 183 grams. Front and rear, the case is covered with tempered Gorilla Glass 5. Inside, there are two more important differences – the SoC Snapdragon 712 and a 4000 mAh battery.
Like its competitor, Realme XT offers 6/8 GB of RAM, 64/128 GB of storage, a microSD card slot up to 256 GB, a USB Type-C port and Bluetooth 5.0. There is also a younger version with 4 GB of RAM on board.
On the back there is an almost identical system of four sensors: 64 megapixels (Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1, f / 1.8) + 8 megapixels (wide-angle, f / 2.2) + 2 megapixels (depth sensor, f / 2.4) + 2 megapixels (macro, f / 2.4). But the front camera in Realme XT is a bit simpler: 16 megapixels, Sony IMX471 sensor with aperture f / 2.0.
The differences between Realme XT and Redmi Note 8 Pro include a fingerprint display scanner, Android 9.0 Pie OS with ColorOS 6 shell, HyperBoost 2.0 technology, Dolby Atmos and the absence of an infrared port, fast charging power of 20 W (the Redmi Note 8 Pro has a charge of 18 Tue).
The start of sales is scheduled for September 16 and for the younger version with 4/64 GB of memory they requested $ 225, the option with 6/64 GB will cost $ 239 and the top-end modification of 8/128 GB is estimated at $ 268. Redmi Note 8 Pro has not yet entered the Indian market and there is no information on how much it is planned to sell in this country. For comparison, in China for this model with 6/64 GB they ask for $ 196 and 8/128 GB – $ 251.
In December, Realme XT will receive the top version, which will be distinguished by the presence of a Snapdragon 730G chip, a front-facing 32 megapixel camera and support for 30 W VOOC Charge fast charging.
