Announced laptop Apple MacBook Pro with a 13-inch screen on the Intel Ice Lake processor (5 photos)
In mid-November 2019, Apple introduced a new MacBook Pro model with a 16-inch screen, and in March 2020 released an updated version of the MacBook Air. The next upgrade step is the 13-inch MacBook Pro notebook model, which Apple announced to market.
When developing the design of the case of the updated MacBook Pro 2020 model with a 13-inch screen, Apple engineers used the approach used to update the MacBook Air model, that is, they did not change anything in the external configuration of the laptop, making improvements only to the hardware of the device. The design of the MacBook Pro 2020 is fully consistent with the appearance of the 2019 model.
One of the most significant changes in the 13-inch MacBook Pro 2020 laptop was the return to the Magic Keyboard with a “scissor” keypress mechanism. Thus, Apple completely abandoned the unsuccessful “butterfly” mechanism introduced in 2015 and caused a lot of complaints from users on the “sticky” keys.
A physical Escape key also appeared on the Magic Keyboard, there is a Touch Bar and Touch ID sensor.
The updated MacBook Pro 2020 has an IPS display with a diagonal of 13.3 inches, a resolution of 2560×1600, and a maximum brightness of 500 cd / m2. Wide Color (P3) and True Tone technologies have also been introduced. The overall dimensions remained the same 304.1×212.4×15.6 mm, and the weight of the laptop was 1.4 kg.
The hardware of the top-end MacBook Pro 13 laptops is delivered to the market with 10-generation Intel Core CPUs (Ice Lake) manufactured using the 10 nm process technology. In such models, Intel Core i5 (2.0-3.8 GHz) or Intel Core i7 (2.3-4.1 GHz) chips are installed. The 8th generation Core processors are used as standard: 4-core Intel Core i5 (1.4-3.9 GHz) and Intel Core i7 (1.7-4.5 GHz).
Top-end laptops are equipped with up to 16 GB of RAM, and computers with 32 GB of RAM can also be delivered. In this case, the "fast" memory LPDDR4X-3733 MHz is used. At the basic supply, the RAM capacity is 8 GB (delivery with 16 GB is possible) using LPDDR3-2133 MHz memory.
The updated MacBook Pro 13 (2020) uses twice as much internal SSD memory. At the basic level, this is 256 GB, and for top-end configurations – up to 4 TB. The cost of laptops has remained unchanged, so the most "budget" configuration of the laptop will cost only 1300 dollars. Medium-sized models are priced at $ 2,000, and for the most powerful configuration with Intel Core i7, the 10th generation (Ice Lake), 32 GB of RAM and 4 TB of internal SSD, it will cost $ 3,600. You can already pre-order on the official sites of Apple.
