After 2 years, the iPhone will again receive Touch ID
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo talked about some features of the iPhone, which will be released in 2 years. In the thirteenth generation of the smartphone, a fingerprint scanner will appear, which will be integrated into the screen. Details will be provided by Qualcomm, which introduced an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner at the end of last year.
Apple plans to eliminate critical hardware bugs that prevent scanner installation within a maximum of 18 months. Among them, the sensor capture area, module thickness, energy consumption, as well as the speed at which the multilayer coating is produced.
It is likely that the iPhone will complement the optical scanner. For him, the novelty will have a special cutout. Although, according to Kuo, such a decision is unlikely.
It is worth recalling that the manufacturer stopped using Touch ID in the iPhone X 2 years ago. Instead, they added Face ID. The following models only supported face unlock. Then Apple similarly changed the iPad Pro: the new tablet did not have a Home button, and hence no fingerprint scanner. At the same time, new versions of the MacBook continue to use the Touch ID scanner.
